Undercurrents is a bespoke rug created for the reception area of IPUT Real Estate Dublin's, 3 Dublin Landings. The work is part of my on-going creative collaboration with IPUT which began with Amor Fati, a large scale public installation on display at Tropical Fruit Warehouse opposite the Samuel Beckett Bridge.

Undercurrents operates on a smaller scale and lives within a more controlled, intimate environment. This one of a kind, handmade rug was fabricated by Ceadogan Rugmakers. Its rich pigmentation and tactile nature react to the tones and materials within the space.

The piece takes its inspiration from the River Liffey articulating the river’s currents through long, flowing strands. The interwoven pattern these abstract forms create represent the complex and interconnected nature of our physical and digital lives.
