The Free, The Flow, The Frothy Freshener’ (2024)
Spraypaint and wood assemblage
Dimensions: 1000mm W x 2000mm H
The Free, The Flow, The Frothy Freshener are a set of three paintings named after Joyce’s beautifully animated quote celebrating Guinness. The artworks and the pavilion housing them illustrate the rich history of Guinness’s legacy throughout Dublin:
1. Architecture - Buildings, 2. Architecture - Gardens, 3. Transport.
The pieces explore how we experience these parts of the city on a human scale and from a historical perspective.
These ideas are represented in an abstracted manner drawing inspiration from primary and secondary sources, to accurately depict elements. These are layered within the artworks, using the architectural structure and visual language of stained glass to communicate concepts.
