Neue Welle

Neue Welle (German) – New Wave (English) references the post war WWII abstract stained glass movement in Germany. During the war 25% of the churches had their windows blown out. With a more progressive, less conservative outlook in Germany contra to Entartete Kunst, this offered an opportunity to replace the windows with a style that better embodied this ethos.

The artworks are laser cut acrylic assemblages that can be interpreted as paintings / studies for large scale stained glass windows.

The series was exhibited at my solo show Things Fall Apart (2018)
